Abstract

Because of the physiologic and social limitations of adults, it is difficult to intrude posterior teeth in adult patients. Effective intrusion, however, can be a achieved without extrusion of adjacent teeth by utilizing corticotomy and magnets.
On a 20 years-old female patients who showed extrusion of molar due to the early loss of the antagonists, intrusion was performed utilizing corticotomy and magnets.
@E The following results were obtained:
@EN 1. As a result of intrusion with corticotomy and magnets, the extruded molar was intruded.
2. There was little complication or discomfort after the operation that was simple to perform.
3. Tooth movement after corticotomy was achieved rapidly within 3 months.
4. Intrusion was achieved purely without extrusion of adjacent teeth.
